Fake The Envy were formed in 2001, and currently consists of Kristian Krøll & Kent Ricard Petersen.

Having played together in various bands since 1989, in 2001 Kent and Kristian decide to form Fake The Envy, as a sort of side project to their respective bands. As it turns out, Fake The Envy begins demanding more and more of both members time, respectively, and in late 2002 their first demo CD is recorded, and sent to various labels.

Over the next 8 months, the band earns several nice words on the way from various A&R people, but no label wishes to sign them. Fake The Envy goes into a state of hibernation, with both Kent and Kristian focusing more energy on "real life", and less on the band. Material is still written and recorded, but at an alarmingly slow rate.

Late in 2004 however, a second demo CD is recorded and in February 2005, the band once again, tries it's hand at landing a contract with a label. At roughly the same time, Kristian decides to start a label, with the purpose of releasing Fake The Envy's debut, and to promote other Danish electronic acts.

In July - October, 2005, Fake The Envy re-records five songs from their older material, for their debut album "As They Fall", released on January 16th, 2006.
